Playful Portraiture, Timeless Appeal

Back in Action Family Style

It's been a while people!  I had a nice hiatus after baby #5 came in January and I have been hitting it hard the last couple of months getting back in the game Family Portrait style!  Here's a few samples for you from a great family in the NW metro.

CAkE Smash!

Okay- so this little doll is a sweet sticky mess! I learned a few lessons with this session. The first is that you can start out with 9 balloons in a field of prairie grass and only end up with 3 by the time you are ready to shoot... because the grass will POP them! I also learned that you don't use a metal high chair tray to try and create shade for a whipped cake- the tray with get burning hot and actually act as a broiler top to the cake. Don't worry though, we found real shade for both quickly after and everything turned out okay in the end!

I love doing cake smash sessions, the look of awe and bewilderment on the babies' faces are priceless! They just don't even know what to do with themselves with this cake in front of them! However, if bewilderment is not the look you are hoping to capture, you may want to give your baby a practice run at a cake before your session- because most kiddos are a little unsure what to do with the frosting now stuck to their hands!

Spring is Here!!

I am in the midst of a flurry of requests for outdoor sessions already and I am booking out FAST!  If you are interested in getting on the Spring calendar; email me right away!  Please note the new and exciting changes in session pricing; High Resolution Disc is now INCLUDED!

Happy Spring!!

Aiden Turns One!!

I met this sweet little guy when he was 6 months old and could barely hold himself- so we did a lot of sitting in buckets and such.  This birthday session he was showing off his new skills pushing my props from one end of the studio setup to the other!  And showing off those adorable teeth too!  He was such a smiler and we had a lot of fun with his bright blue birthday cake.  What a pleasure it is to follow these amazing little people as they get bigger!

Family and Fall

This family is just adorable!  The kiddos were so fun and up for adventure.  I love shooting old "out buildings" because you get that great mixture of the natural outdoors of Fall with some of that rustic nostalgia.  The waving grass and bright ivy are just some of my favorite things about this time of year!

Chaos!

I haven't been on in a looooong time, but I will be updating photos here as the next few weeks go on.  It was a busy busy wedding season and now our last little bundle of joy came almost 2 months early.  So as you can imagine, with 3 little boys at home and one to visit in the hospital- it's a bit chaotic here!  Post more pics soon!

Liem Turns One! | Milstone Session

I love doing milestone sessions with babies; it's just so neat to be right there watching them grow and watching those little personalities develop. He's always been a great sitter- still and cooperative through all the snapping- but this time he just was too busy to sit down for long! Turning one is the age of "on-the-go" and personally it's one of my favorite ages.
